So 12:30 on a summer weekday— that means kids are out of school, which is really exciting for us because we get a lot busier and we get to serve you guys a lot more frequently and easier and whatnot. So one of the cool things that we love doing, especially in the summer, is our summer reading program called Books for Yo.
So, I know a lot of you all have taken Books for Yo bookmarks when you've been in. This is for ages 13 and under. Essentially, you get a reward for reading books. I know my wife and I, we have two little kids at home. We have a three year old and we have a newly one year old. Obviously, they can't read, but we read books to them so much that my three year old can literally just recite what's on every single page. And that's really cool! So we're going to count that as reading.
How the program works is that when you read 10 books, you get a reward of a free FroYo up to three dollars It’s really exciting for us to incentivize because we know that readers are leaders and leaders are readers.
So, how do you go about getting these resources that we want? Obviously, the bookmarks you can get in store. They are at many different places like by the register, on our community wall, and whatnot. But if you go to yogurtinikc.com/books-for-yo, you can actually get the whole toolbox that we have a Books for Yo resources Toolbox.
It’s that easy! There's a reading log, there's certificates to give to the students or your kiddos after they finished a book, or when they’ve finished the whole summer program. There's all kinds of different things that'll be there for you. I think eight in total that will help you along your journey whetherr it's as minimal as a bookmark or as big as an entire calendar reading log.
Again, the reward is some free frozen yogurt. It's pretty good. If you're a parent, we're for you. If you're a teacher, we'd love to partner with you. Faculty, staff of any school, nonprofits that have children or reading programs as well— we'd love to come alongside of you and just help you pour fuel on what you're already doing.
