Community & Conversation

We have a lot of cool things going on here at Yogurtini KC. You've seen some changes on our social media recently when went from three separate locations with separate social media accounts to one underneath the Yogurtini KC moniker which showcases that we are one community no matter if we are in the south, northland, or central area of Kansas City. So there's a lot of cool things that we have planned and want to share with you all— a lot that we already have cooking or that we've already rolled out. And a lot more that we have in the future!

So in addition to that social media being under Yogurtini and KC, we've also started a new email communication that we'd love for you to join. So let’s talk about our FroYo Club. When we refer to FroYo Club, that's kind of a twofold. It's both the email and our loyalty program.

So you might already be in our loyalty program. If you're not, you need to get in it because you'll get all the deals! Here’s the link! And then secondly, be sure to join our email list. We're going to have some of course updates we want to tell you about (like our events our new flavors), but also some conversations that we're having. This is where we’ll dive a little deeper into what we're doing for the community, chat with some friends in the community about what they're doing, and really just work to build each other up and have more of these conversations.

So this is what the community tab on the website will hold. If you spend time on our website, follow us on social and email and you won’t miss a thing. So before, when we're trying to post things on three separate, it was just really cumbersome for us. And you all were saying after the fact, “oh, I didn't know this was going on”. So it really helps that now there's a lot of cross promoting going on and we’re growing this community across the metro. We’ve seen a lot of familiar faces from our Plaza and Shoal Creek locations coming down to Overland Park when we do some of our events, because they're getting that chance to see what we have going on.

So, the Community Tab is the central hub with all the good stuff we're doing. From events, to specials, to fundraising, community building, and everything of in the middle of there. I guess you could call it a content platform, but a content platform to build, give back, and open up the door for you guys to be in on the conversation with us. It's a reciprocal back and forth. We want to hear from you. Some of the best things that we do are things that you all recommend to us. So I think that piece is really cool, but kind of a prime example this past weekend; we had a lot going on, we were selling frozen yogurt and toppings in all three locations, we had a Dog Days event at our Shoal Creek location, and then me and a few of my team members were actually on site for a four day catering event. And that was a lot of fun! And you all had a chance to actually see the progress of the Dog Days event, but also the catering event that we documented every single day, and you all were in on the conversation.

I heard from a lot of you and we got some inquiries from you guys that you didn't even know we did catering or you didn't know we could be on site. So that stuff matters and that will live on our community tab! If you think you missed something, it's going to be right there for you on the website.

We're going to make it really easy for all this content to live on the web and be searchable. So if there's something you're interested in or a conversation you remember seeing us start on social media, odds are we're going to dive deeper into it on that content page. There will also be a form there where you can connect with us, so please reach out. We want to highlight your local businesses and the things that you're doing for the community. And maybe see how we can partner or help build you guys up. It only makes us all stronger when we work together.

So stay tuned. We're going to be doing a lot of things podcast-ish style as we bring in experts in the community, some big time fundraising partners that we have, and everything kind of in between. Just, again, to have those conversations, to let it to be one community where, again, it is reciprocal. We're just going to have a lot of fun.

At the end of the day, this is frozen dessert. We're not trying to change the world through this, but we do believe that it does take a village. And we have a village. We have three locations across the metro. Last year we served 360, 000 cups of frozen yogurt. And, you know, that matters to us. We're not changing the entire world. We're not changing the entire metro. But that makes us at least feel that what we're doing something that matters if you all keep coming back, making connections, and building a community around a simple cup of frozen yogurt.

Thank you guys. It's been almost 10 years of being in the frozen yogurt business here in Kansas City and we couldn't do it without you. So we're going to try to honor you as much as you all honored us. Thank you so much. We'll see you in store!
